Excursion schedule
Gathering and departure for Belgrade, with stops for coffee and food. Arriving on our tour of the Serbian capital, we will see the Kalemegdan fortress with its Renaissance towers, loopholes and fortifications. Then, in the historic center of the city we will see many and impressive buildings of the 19th century such as the National Museum, while along the Avenue of the Revolutions we will see the Parliament, a classic example of Balkan architecture. Accommodation at the hotel.
Breakfast and departure for the capital of Croatia. On our tour of Zagreb we will admire the Cathedral of St. Stephen, the Stone Gate with the painting of the Virgin Mary, the Presidential Palace and the parliament. Then arrival in beautiful Ljubljana. We will visit the old town where we will see the town hall, the cathedral of Agios Nikolaos, the bridge of the Dragons and the Three bridges, the market, Prezernov square, the bishop's palace with the library and the castle. Accommodation at the hotel and overnight.
Breakfast and our first stop is Lake Bled which looks like taken from the pages of the most beautiful fairy tales, as it is surrounded by mountains and forests while in its center is the only island you can find in Slovenia. Next stop in Austria and the beautiful Villach with the old castle on the hill and the wonderful view of the Slovenian Alps. Our last stop for today is the enchanting Klagenfurt built around the shores of Lake Verterze. Return to Ljubljana in the afternoon.
Breakfast and start for the majestic Postoina caves, which are considered the second largest caves in Europe. With a special train we cross a large part of the big cave and enjoy the unique spectacular interior decoration, made of stalactites and stalagmites of different shapes and shades. We continue for Trieste. Here we will admire the Roman theater and the famous Austrian neighborhood of the castle and the cathedral of San Giusto, the patron saint of the city. Our final destination for today is Mestre, the ‘new’ Venice as they call the area. Accommodation at the hotel and overnight.
Breakfast and departure for the beautiful Venice which is built on 119 islands which are surrounded by picturesque canals connected by small bridges. We will have the opportunity to admire the square of Ag. Mark with the homonymous church, the majestic bell tower, the Moorish tower, the Doge's palace and the famous Bridge of Sighs. We continue to the coastal Rimini. Accommodation at the hotel and free time. Overnight.
Breakfast and departure for the independent state of San Marino. Free time in the cobbled streets of the medieval capital with the tax-free market and we continue to Ancona from where we will take the return ferry. Arrival, boarding and departure. Overnight at sea.
